On September 9th, Team Challenge, the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s Endurance Training and Fundraising program, participated in the Land Rover TriRock Triathlon series Sprint Triathlon in San Diego, CA. This was only Team Challenge’s second year at the event, yet Team participation and the amount of money raised increased significantly from last year. One hundred and fifty-six participants from five cities — San Diego, Los Angeles, Northern California, Seattle and Denver – raised almost a half a million dollars. The feedback from the Team Challenge participants about race has been extremely positive.
“This triathlon is a great addition to our race portfolio,” says Craig Comins, National Director, Team Challenge. “It has enabled us to offer our Team members a new and truly rewarding experience which is what Team Challenge is all about.”
Team Challenge is one of the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation’s signature programs with includes several ½ marathons, the TriRock race in San Diego and a cycle event in upstate New York. “As we continue to grow the program, we want to be able to offer our participants different types of events all in beautiful locations,” Comins said.
