TriRock Colorado Triathlon Ready to Rock Aurora Reservoir
  • Registration will be open at the Multi-Sport Expo on Thursday and Friday
  • Bachelorette Season 6’s Roberto Martinez to participate in sprint triathlon
  • Special registration code supports Aurora’s Parthenia “Potts” Jones’ battle with cancer

New to the TriRock Triathlon Series presented by REI, the inaugural TriRock Colorado is bringing swimming, biking, running and rocking to the Rocky Mountains on Saturday, July 13. The musical multi-sport mash-up starts on the beach at Aurora Reservoir, bikes through the meadows and runs along the lake, before concluding with a finish line festival and concert at the Main Plaza recreation area.

TriRock Colorado features Sprint and Olympic distance events as well as a three-person relay, where a team of participants split the swim, bike and run courses. The triathlon offers a rocking competition for any skill level, complete with music along the course, followed by a post-race party and concert. Colorado participants will receive a finisher’s medal, technical t-shirt, red carpet finish, post-race breakfast and access to the concert and beer garden.

“We look forward to bringing the TriRock Triathlon Series to Aurora Reservoir, it’s the perfect setting for a summer triathlon,” said Molly Quinn, Vice President of Triathlon at Competitor Group, organizer of the TriRock Triathlon Series presented by REI. “The TriRock format will surely please beginner and experienced triathletes alike, providing an unforgettable event experience.”

From local heroes to reality TV stars, TriRock Colorado will draw an array of participants. Aurora resident Parthenia “Potts” Jones, who previously worked for City of Aurora and is widely known in the running community, is currently in midst of a battle with cancer.  For every participant who registers with the code POTTS, TriRock Triathlon Series is donating a portion of the registration cost to help Potts with her medical bills.  Additionally, Bachelorette Season 6’s Roberto Martinez will participate in his second sprint triathlon at TriRock Colorado. He completed his first triathlon last November at TriRock Clearwater Triathlon.
