SAN DIEGO, CA – Sept. 22, 2013 – The TriRock San Diego Triathlon presented by REI welcomed more than 1,800 participants to swim, bike, run and rock through downtown San Diego. The musical multi-sport event started and finished adjacent to Embarcadero Park South and featured a bike course that toured the 32nd Street Naval Base. With sprint, intermediate and relay distances, the race concluded with a rocking finish line concert and post-race breakfast.

The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation of America’s (CCFA) endurance training and fundraising program, Team Challenge, was the official charity partner with more than 150 participants in today’s event. Three quarters of every dollar raised by Team Challenge goes directly to CCFA’s mission to fund programs and research that ultimately find cures for the 1.4 million Americans suffering from digestive diseases, Crohn’s and ulcerative colitis.

“The Bachelor’s” Dr. Andy Baldwin raced in the intermediate distance with his brother. He crossed the finish line in 2:09:55.58, landing him 10th place overall and 2nd place in his age division.

All participants received a finisher’s medal, technical t-shirt, red carpet finish, post-race breakfast and access to the post-race concert.
