The Sprint Course

500 meter Swim / 11 mile Bike / 3 mile Run

Both courses will take place almost entirely within site of beautiful San Diego Bay. Like the Olympic Triathlon, the Sprint start/finish area and the transition area will be located behind the San Diego Convention Center and will feature a ride through Naval Base San Diego, passing by San Diego’s finest Navy ships.

Swim

The 500m swim will be a right hand triangular course starting and finishing adjacent to the transition area. This spectator friendly course is in calm flat water, is an in-water start, and is well marked with large buoys numbered with distances for navigation and safety.

Bike

After exiting the transition area, athletes will start the single loop bike course on Harbor Drive. Heading south, athletes will race south to Navy Base San Diego for exclusive access to ride next to some of the US Navy’s finest ships. Athletes will then ride north on the mostly flat course to transition behind the Convention Center.

Run

The 3 mile run will be an out and back next to San Diego Bay through Embarcadero Park North, Seaport Village, a turn around within site of the USS Midway, and end with a photo finish just a short distance from the transition area.
